After being contacted by the local people with their immediate need of clean water, a monitoring trip was made to Laputta – Thaung Du village under Myit Pauk village tract to provide financial assistance, as well as to determine what other assistance could be provided by other organizations working in that area. Before making the trip, calls were made to UNDP, UNICEF and Malteser to evaluate their arrangements for getting clean water in Laputta. A trip was carried out to see what the conditions are and what additional materials may be required.
UNICEF, UNDP and MALTESER offices were visited in Laputta. The target village was under MALTESER and it was learned that plastic containers were delivered to the village. They considered different sources to provide clean water. UNDP provided funds to different partners for this Water project.

Since the potable water problem is being taken care by different organizations, the original plan (to donate a Boat to carry water) was kept on hold. However, 1,400,000 kyats was allocated to that village for their livelihood or village rehabilitation. Upon receiving the proposal from the village, disbursement of funds will be considered.
